Hélio António
A Nazarene photographer born in 1978, Hélio António grew up on this magnificent coast, home to the world’s most giant waves, and it will have been this proximity to the sea that fueled his passion for the waves. At the age of 17, he began to surf and soon realized that he wanted to immortalize the beauty of what he saw in the water. Photography was born in his life. He tries to eternalize the fascination with the sea and the enigmatic beauty of the waves. In 2004 he became a psychology graduate and then joined the army, where he served for seven years. After this period, he naturally returned to photography. Nazaré is his beach of choice to photograph due to the diversity of the waves. In 2021 he published a book of surf images, a great seller. He regularly collaborates with the leading brands and surf platforms worldwide, having already published in the prestigious National Geographic Magazine.
